The Seattle Drum School hosts a set of ensemble groups leading up to the formation of the Seattle Drum Line, a world class drum corps competing and performing at a variety of venues. The basic group will consist of snares, tenors and bass with both quads and Scottish tenor drums taking part. Instruction on all these drums are available at SDS.
All classes will be held at the Seattle Drum School North campus on 15th NE.
Costs for pre-registered students: $40 a month , or $10 a class. Drop-in are welcome for a $20 per class fee.

Group snare -- Introduction to Drum Salutes
Beginners
Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 7 PM
Participants will learn at least one flashy drum salute to perform in public. Basic rudiments, off beat rhythms, clickety sticks and back sticking
Introduction to band snare rudiments
Beginners
Saturdays from 12 Noon to 1 PM
Focusing primarily on pipe band snare drumming, this class teaches the basics for anyone playing the snare drum, be it in orchestra or band. Especially recommended for competition bands developing their drum corps.

Intermediate
Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM or Saturdays from 11AM to 12 Noon
Participants will learn several difficult drum salutes with more advanced rudiments and catchy, tricky rhythms for public performance.

Group drumming -- Advanced Drum Salute Repertoire
Advanced, sight reading skills a plus
Saturdays from 10AM to 11 AM
Participants will prepare for competition and public performances including a possible commercial DVD. All aspects of corps drumming will be exlored. Tenors, basses and quads welcome.
